The Ultimate Chinese Fountain Pen Catalogue

I always found it hard to find Chinese fountain pens. There are lots of resources regarding them, but I could never find just a list to check out. Over the last two months i have been working on a comprehensive list of every Chinese fountain pen model from every brand I could find.

Not only are there tons of Chinese fountain pen companies, but each company often has multiple dozens of fountain pen models, and most of them are at a ridiculously low price, with some decent pens ranging from as low as 1$. I always get lost with all of the options. And very often forget what models I own myself! I thought it'd be useful to make a post where i list all the models of reputable Chinese companies that i could find.

I will try to be brief, but for every pen I will write a short description of the pen. If available I will link it to my review. I will cover all the pens that i know, but there's lots of Chinese pens, so I will definitely miss some. I will also try to categorise the pens in some way, but the categories will vary from company to company. If some pens are very similar, I will also group them together, but they have to be very, very similar for me to do that.

If you find any other pen that isn't listed here, or any mistake, please feel free to send me a message, and i'll add it here.

Index

Jinhao

One of the cheapest and most known Chinese company. They make all kinds of pens, some original, and some blatant copies. They only have c/c fountain pens.

Hard To Find Pens

These are all the pens that I either could not find the price of, or the prices given are very high and unreasonable.

Hooded Nibs

These are all the pens that have an option of having a hooded nib. Some of them also have an open nib version available.

Artwork Pens

These pen feature either beautiful flourishes or some sort of artwork on them, making them unique.

Blatant Clones

Pens that are almost one-to-one with other, more expensive alternatives.

Sleek Design

Pens that have an elegant, sleek, or professional design and didn't fit the above categories.

Traditional or Vintage

Pens that look vintage or "traditional" old-school designs that just work.

Wing Sung

Another monster of a Chinese company that has tons of models, which get difficult to track. I will try my best. These pens are a step-up from Jinhao, and cost a few dollars more. Sometimes advertised under the name YongSheng, although i don't know the history behind that.
Wing Sung is such an old company that i wouldn't be surprised if i only listed 1/4th of all the pens they have.

Triumph Nib pens

Wing Sung has quite a lot Triumph Nib Pens. Some of them i could find little information on, so i just listed the models and how the pens looked.

Blatant Clones

Premium Pens

Compared to other Chinese manufacturers, Wing Sung has quite a few premium pens made of high quality materials and even gold nibs.

Piston / Vac Fillers

The Rest

Moonman Majohn

A smaller, newer company that makes very good quality pens (most of the time). Similar prices as Wing Sung, but from my experience they are higher quality and more well-made. They also make a lot of eyedropper filled pens.

Eyedropper Pens

Majohn has a lot of eyedropper pens, so they are getting their own subheading here.

Blatant Clones

Piston Fillers

Majohn does not release a lot of piston fillers, but they still have a few.

The Rest

Delike

A company known for producing high-quality fountain pens. They are more established in the west than the other companies, and even have their own website in English. They are an off-spring company of the Majohn (I think?). They are also more difficult to find the prices of.

Hong Dian

A small company producing only a handful of fountain pens. Most known for their all black fountain pens. As far as i know all their pens use c/c filling system.

Forest Models

These are models based on either seasons or forests. They have quite a lot of them.

N Models

These models are often traditional designs with a specific spin placed on them. They are most often piston-fillers.

The Rest

Hero

An old and well established company that also owns Wing Sung. Known for making mostly just clones. Older versions are known for their leakage as well, but over time it seems that the company has fixed most of the issues that they had.

Just Parkers and Clones

These are pens that are the most ultimate blatant Parker clones. This company makes a ton of them.

The Rest

Asvine

A company that quickly emerged in the past 2 years, and have no previous track record. So far they have released a lot of high-quality fountain pens. Their pens can be compared to PenBBS. They are more expensive compared to the other companies. They also offer fountain pens with Bock nibs, allowing easy nib changes. Because of their young age, they only have a few fountain pens behind their belt.

PenBBS

A company that is known for making more prestigious fountain pens. They mostly make piston and vac fillers, and are known for great quality, but they are also more expensive.

Vacuum Fillers

Piston Fillers

The Rest

Kaigelu

Kaigelu is a Chinese fountain pen company known for producing high-quality writing instruments at relatively affordable prices. The name "Kaigelu" translates to "Kangaroo" in Mandarin. Originally they were funded by Australian investors, but are now fully Chinese. Nowadays I found it hard to find certain models.

Scrikss

While not a Chinese fountain pen company per se (they're Turkish), they still produce cheapish bunch of pens at a very decent price point, and many of their pens use Chinese parts. They're known to be good quality, although many of them are difficult to find, and they're more often found in Asian markets, rather than western.

Baoer

A sister company to Jinhao, meaning that they make similar pens at the same unbelievably cheap price. They make lots of clones as well.

Resources

Apart from my own googling. I've also sto... ekhm, I mean borrowed the fountain pen models from those links.
